What's New in v11.0?

IRIS Accountancy Suite v11.0 delivers functionality that streamlines processes and improves practice productivity.

Integration with IRIS Payroll for Accountants, e-filing iXBRL accounts to Companies House and a client tax account for corporation tax clients provide significant time savings features for practitioners.

IRIS Personal Tax & IRIS Payroll for Accountants

IRIS Personal Tax now integrates with IRIS Payroll for Accountants. Payroll information is automatically pulled through to IRIS Personal Tax eliminating the need to re-enter individual earnings, tax deducted at source and details of any benefits received. Creating Personal Tax returns and completing P11Ds just became much easier.

IRIS Personal Tax also has a new toolbar featuring new icons, a fresh look and feel and clear informative labels. This addresses concerns raised by a number of customers.

IRIS Accounts Production - limited by guarantee formats

IRIS Accounts Production now supports accounts for not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, a common company structure amongst charities. The new feature modifies existing report outputs if a company type of ‘limited by guarantee’ is selected.

The changes include:

  • Statutory P&L now refers to Income and Expenditure Account
  • “Surplus” and “Deficit” not “Profit” and “Loss”

Additionally IRIS Accounts Production now supports a wider range of currencies. In addition to £, $ and € it also supports Yen and Swiss Francs

Companies House e-filing iXBRL accounts

With IRIS Accountancy Suite 11, it’s possible to e-file iXBRL full and abbreviated accounts to Companies House. Accounts that have been previously tagged and prepared for HMRC can be submitted to Companies House at the push of a button. This eliminates potential transposition or tagging errors, ensuring the relevant details are sent to Companies House and represents significant time savings.

Companies House e-filing change of name

Another new feature designed to save time and cost is the option to E-file Change of Name forms and resolutions to CH. Practitioners can enjoy significant saving using this feature in IRIS Company Secretarial.

Filing Charges:

  • Paper = £10; Same Day = £50
  • E-File = £8; Same Day = £30
IRIS Business Tax - Client Account for Corporation Tax

The new client account feature for corporation tax clients offers significant productivity benefits. The client account allows users to keep track of the amounts due by the client and make comparisons with HMRCs financial statements.

IRIS Business Tax - Quarterly Payments

A Quarterly Instalment Payments calculator has also been introduced within the client account for use with companies with profits greater than £1.5 million. Such companies must pay CT by quarterly instalments. Such payments must be paid before the deadline for filing the Corporation Tax Return. Practitioners can now schedule such payments and calculate interest payments where applicable..

IRIS Business Tax supports a wider range of currencies. In addition to £, $ and € Rls 11 supports Yen and Swiss Francs.

Simplified Client Entry

Release 11.0 simplifies the process for creating a new client. Where a new client works for a large employer (such as a local authority) the practitioner no longer needs to set up the employer as a client. Previously the practice would have registered the details of the employer in IRIS even though there was no relationship with this employer. There is now a much simpler process to register new clients representing a significant time saving and ensures only real clients are held in system.
